The plots of land that we cultivate are 45 years old on average.
The vine population is 100% Pinot Noir.. Our annual production is of approximately 3000 bottles.
The vines are cultivated in non-certified organic production.
The subsoil is limestone-gravel covered with clay.
The cuvée is vinified in tanks for approximately 15 days, then put into oak barrels in which it remains at least 12 months. It is then removed and put into tanks 3 to 4 months before being bottled.
We use approximately 20% of new barrels.
The wine produces intense and dense flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant and fruit, with a fresh tannin finish.
It can be savoured in combination with white or grilled meat.
Tasting
Raphael GIMENEZ-FAUVETY ‘s tasting notes – Retailer ; “De Corps et d’Esprit” in Paris
Immediately charming; the sweetness of almost caramelised red fruits, chocolate, chocolate truffle, raspberry and cherry, sweet seductive spices, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, warm chocolate – almost like being in front of a plate of chocolate profiteroles, flowers, carnations and red roses, peonies, lipstick balsamic, foundation, Virginia tobacco – the Camel non filter version, granny’s honeys and jams.
The palate as irresistible as the nose; a mountain of sensual fruits, slightly jammy, the determined surge of raspberry, cherry, rounded substance, smoothness, a rare opulence, all without the slightest effort, totally natural; and the obvious conclusion – you could drink litres of it. We’re reminded of the 1999 vintage, even if this is much more concentrated, due to the disconcerting ease in drinking these wines, to the obvious maturity, the frankness of the fruit; a delight.
Juicy, expressive finish, tannins just as you’d expect; absolutely natural length and persistence; this wine makes it look so easy and it is so good. Roast chicken, peas and fries, please!
Some people’s idea of perfection.

A ruby robe. A nose of sweet spices and crushed red fruits, a dash of cinnamon, another of nutmeg and a third of turmeric; a strawberry, a raspberry and a cherry – crushed, then gently macerated in a dry white wine; tender, delicately floral, with roses and carnations, a hint of a ruby Port without the alcohol, a note of fresh laurel after aeration.
The palate is very close to the nose – perhaps a little more towards plums than red fruits; cherry stones too, with Virginia tobacco, bark and Burlat cherries.
The finish is flavoursome, the wine a little more intense than you would have expected – ideal with chicken and chips or a breaded veal cutlet and lightly buttered pasta shells, but you can also simply serve it with a cold meat platter, rosette saucisson, mortadella and brawn.

A Monthelie that resembles a Santenots, the maturity and density of the vintage allow this village to enjoy a dazzling social promotion. Dense nose, candied red fruits, freshly baked red fruit pastry, raspberry and strawberry tart, gougère, blueberry jam and cherry jam. An elastic palate with strong raspberry and cherry, a little less “finished” than the Burgundy or Pommard, but a few months and the matter is settled.
